Paulette and Rich Placek are not only partners in marriage; they are also partners in creating beautiful harmonics and overtones playing the Himalayan Singing Bowls. They don’t just play the bowls, using sacred sound techniques; they communicate through the energies and sounds of the bowls. Every time they strike or sing a bowl, they gain another experience and understand more about vibrational sound healing therapy.
Paulette and Rich use the singing bowls for therapeutic and transformational uses. Vibrational Sound Healing Therapy is becoming internationally recognized as an effective tool in the healing process of stress related conditions. It helps to alter consciousness and induce relaxation, helping to reduce pain & stress, promoting a more restful sleep, increased joy and balanced energy. You may also shift the energy of a space. Sound has also been shown to be effective in the healing process for cancer patients by reducing stress and aiding in pain management. Vibrational Sound Practitioners reported sensations of levitation while in deep meditative states.
In the fall of 2008, after a yoga class with Jap Singh Khalsa and Kalyan Kaur, where they used singing bowls to aid in meditation, Paulette and Rich had wonderful/esoteric experiences and were inspired to learn more about the bowls. They have been studying with world renowned, Mitch Nur, PhD and have received their “Singing Bowl Master Certification, Level 3” from Mitch.
They have a collection that consists of over 25 singing bowls ranging from 4” to 17” including several certified healing bowls. They may use all or part of the collection during a session, it depends on the condition and desired result of the listener.
Paulette has been doing yoga since 2000 and received her yoga certification in the spring of 2006 and then opened Yoga Time, yoga studio and healing arts center, in the fall of 2006. She earned her AS Degree from BCC in 2000. She has been a Notary Public since 2004. In 2007 she became an Ordained Minister and a Doctorate in Divinity, as well as a Young Living Oils Independent Distributor. In the spring of 2008 she became a Reiki Master Practitioner and in 2009 a certified master level 3, Singing Bowl Practitioner. She is currently working on her bachelors in elementary education.
Rich has been doing yoga for 10 years alongside Paulette and is excited about being a certified master level 3, Singing Bowl Practitioner. “I truly connect with the energy of the bowls. I feel it, I play it,” Rich says, “and when Paulette and I play, we truly communicate and trust what will benefit the listener/receiver.”
